Background

Greenfield Educational Centre was founded in 1992. Our aim is to help children build good foundations of Chinese and English languages and ability to think creatively and independently.

We offer the following services:

Five Steps to English/Chinese (for ages 0 to 14).

• For Chinese, we promote recognising large amount of characters early on to enable early reading, share discussion methods to build a good reading habit.
• For English, through the use of Balanced Reading Approach, whole language reading and English phonics, we make learning English more interesting and develop pupils’ confidence and ability.

We publish and sell high quality children books in Chinese and English geared for ages 0 to 14, as well as books for parents.

We hold summer courses with various activities for children to learn the language happily and effectively.

We hold talks to share teaching experience with teachers and parents. Topics range from language teaching to reading habit and growth of children.

We hold teacher phonics courses to share the method of teaching children phonics.

Greenfield Parent-child Reading Club was established and a quarterly newsletter is being published to promote reading and introduce different methods in raising children’s reading interests, abilities and habits.
