Do you want to learn the basic theories of Chinese medicine, but are worried that the classics like Compendium of Materia Medica and The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine are too difficult? Magical Herbs is a simple Chinese-English illustrated book that introduces the therapeutic effects of 17 kinds of medicinal herbs that are commonly found in Southern China. Real photos of every medicinal herb are included in order to help adults and children recognize the plants in their daily life.

The characters in the book are designed according to the herbs mentioned in the book, like Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome, Niu Da Li and selfheal, etc. In the comics, they teach readers about how the herbs should be used to relieve common symptoms of children discomfort.

Moreover, this book explains Chinese medicine-related Chinese characters, and guides its readers in appreciating poems in order to understand how ancient Chinese expressed themselves through herbs.
